About Holbrook

Holbrook is an attractive, rural village on the Shotley peninsula. It is well served with two village pubs: The Compasses and the Swan, a local Co-op and a newsagents shop. The village also has a tea shop and a hairdressers.

For those moving to Holbrook with children, the village has a pre-school, a primary and secondary school, which all have a good reputation. Also in the village is the Royal Hospital School, an independent day and boarding school. The school was founded at Greenwich Hospital in 1693 and moved to Holbrook in 1933.

Other facilities in the village include a village hall and it is served by two churches: All Saints and Holbrook Methodist Church. Holbrook lies in the Babergh district and had a population of around 2,300 in 2007.
